A few of the people who know me know that I'm a pretty big MMA fan, and I'm also an amateur fighter. Currently sidelined due to a major injury, but it's all good.

First of all, a few notable fighters who made the sport what it is today.

Fedor Emelianenko: I don't give two shits if Werdum got a lucky triangle choke on him, Fedor is the greatest mma artist to ever walk this planet. To quote Joe Rogan; "Michael Jordan, Wayne Gretzky, Tiger Woods, Muhammad Ali, Fedor Emelianenko."

Mirko Cro Cop: The greatest striker in the history of MMA. "Right kick hospital, left kick cemetary."

Wanderlei Silva: Fuck Anderson Silva (no relation between these guys btw) Wandy has the most dangerous Muay Thai clinch in the world. The fight where he delivered 17 consecutive knees to the head of Rampage was just nasty. The staredown he had with Cro Crop was also probably the best we'll ever see.

Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira: Another great, this guy is probably my idol in life. At the age of eleven he was hit by a truck and put in a coma; the doctor told his mother he wouldn't live. Three weeks later and he emerged from the coma; the doctor told him he would never be able to walk again. 15 years later he became the Pride Heavyweight Champion of the World.

Randy Couture/Chuck Lidell: This rivalry is what helped MMA rise to prominence in North America.

Forrest Griffin/Stephen Bonnar: Their fight on the first season of the Ultimate Fighter is what saved the UFC from bankruptcy; if it weren't for them the sport might not even exist anymore.

Yeah no problem, I just messing around. Boxing is dead nowadays anyway =/

Also Anderson Silva pulled off one of the greatest comebacks in MMA history last night.

I fail to see how the shit-stains of professional wrestling like TNA, WWE, and RAW still exist. I attempted to watch like John Cena (who is a trash actor) against some random guy and I broke out laughing.

Even when it was the same exact pin as before, the ref. wouldn't count half the time. Then whenever he did count Cena would magically spring to life once the count hit two.

Boxing annoys me nowadays because the champs, with possibly the exception of Manny pick crap fighters so they can keep their title as long as possible. Boxing died when Tyson went to jail.

Wrong order of names, and Joe Rogan is UFC, not Pride lol.

HAD. Anderson is (for now at least) at the top of the MMA world since Fedor's loss. Meanwhile Wandy is struggling to maintain a decent winning streak.

Pride was vey popular during this time, and if it wasn't for Dana White the it would still be around. MMA might not be as popular as it is now, but Pride>UFC imo.
